Vernice Mae 'Sissy' Travis, 89, of Lebanon Junction, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021.
She was born on Aug. 12, 1931, in Oldham County to her parents, Noble Festus and Betty Ann Burgin Flint.
Sissy was a dedicated member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Billy Hill 'Bill' Travis; her parents; and two brothers, Buddy Flint and Wayne Walker.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn (P.J.) McCartt and Janet (Joe) Shuffitt; four grandchildren, Michelle McCartt, Brent McCartt, Shannon (Randall) Sweet and Craig (Kristin) Shuffitt; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler (Marissa) McCartt, Haylee McCartt, Travis Shuffitt, Brennan Schaefer, Seth Schaefer, Evan Schaefer, Leah Schaefer, and Hannah Smallwood; a brother, Buck (Rita) Flint; a sister, Mary (Thomas) Crigler; and a special niece, Diana Flint.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Nalley officiating. Burial will be held at Vine Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Trowbridge Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction and after Noon on Wednesday at the church.

I had no idea about Sissy´s death, I´m so sorry she was a special lady. I saw cars and looked on line, Carolyn and Janet and family you have my deepest sympathy. I´m tied to house haven´t been able to pay my respects in person. Love you Dolores
