Violet Dell Troutman, 91, of Bardstown, formerly of Battletown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Signature Healthcare at Colonial Rehab and Wellness in Bardstown.
Violet was born on Nov. 30, 1929, in Louisville to the late Alvin Roscoe Troutman and Eula Adeline Hogan Troutman. Her husband, Eugene W. Reading; daughter, Debra Carroll Harrett; and great-granddaughter, Brianna Conley, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Gayle (Don) Rutledge of Bardstown; brother, Alvin Troutman of Louisville; five grandchildren, John Amshoff and Rachel (Brian) Owen, both of Bardstown, Jennifer (Jarvis Jones) Vertrees of Forest, Va., Kimberly Hawk of Shelbyville and Emily (Bryan) Quillen of Louisville; 12 great-grandchildren, Aaron and Grant Amshoff, Elizabeth, Madeline and Carolyn (Adam Donahue) Martin, Jacinda, Justin and Meadow Vertrees, Thomas Wilkerson III, Madison and DJ Hawk and Hazel Quillen; a very special and beloved cousin, Evelyn Pinkley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Violet's final wishes were to be cremated and the family fulfilled her wishes. No services are scheduled at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Cap Anderson Cemetery in Brandenburg.
