TREMONT - Myra Lou McMakin Pfeiffer of Tremont passed away at 2:02 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Delavan to Joseph Harold and Bonnie Mahala Rosecrans McMakin. She married Charles A. Pfeiffer on Nov. 2, 1950, in Tremont, and he preceded her in death July 7, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Perry A. (Norma) Pfeiffer of Lompoc, Calif., and Timothy L. (Lin) Pfeiffer of Chesterfield, Mo.; two grandchildren, Maggie Holter-Meyers (Joel) and Max (Lia) Holter; and two sisters, Etta Mae Park and Bonnie Jo (Pat) Parker, both of Tremont.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jack J. McMakin and his wife, Edna Morrison McMakin.
She graduated from Tremont High School in 1946.
The Pfeiffers lived in Tremont, Allentown, then were transferred with Charlie's job to Long Grove, Iowa, Starbuck, Minn., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After Charlie's "Snuffy's" death, Myra moved back to Tremont after being gone from the Tremont area 54 years.
Myra worked most of her life in real estate and insurance, apartment management.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be following at Glendale Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pekin, Ill.
Memorials contributions may be made to the Tremont United Methodist Church or Wounded Warrior Project.
