HANNA CITY – Raymond M. Penn, 83, of Hanna City, passed away peacefully at his home at 3:17 AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. He was born on March 13, 1934 in Hanna City to Roy Lester and Mable Anna (Johnson) Penn. He married Doris Raffety on May 23, 1952 in Peoria, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Linda (Steve) Bohde of Hanna City, Cindy (Gary) Holmes of Hanna City, and Cheryl (Tim) Botkin of Hanna City; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Penn, and four sisters, Eleanor Bleichner, Thelma Swanson, Helen McCoy, and Henrietta Arends-Uphoff.
Raymond worked as a journeyman electrician. He was a member of Lamarsh Baptist Church in Mapleton and was also a member of local union #34. Raymond was a volunteer fireman, employed in the village of Hanna City and he loved God.
Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Lamarsh Baptist Church in Mapleton, IL, where a visitation will be held from 1-2 PM. Rev. Brandon Dillard will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Smithville Cemetery in Rural Hanna City, IL. Memorials can be made to Lamarsh Baptist Church or Logan-Trivoli Fire Department.
