PEORIA - Bernard "Day Day" Douglas, 46, of 1512 Aiken Ave. passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in the emergency room.
He was born March 22, 1962, to Ronald L. and Barbara Williams Douglas in Chicago, Ill. He married Anna Kilpatrick in Sallisaw, Okla. She survives.
Bernard served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1980 until 1983.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Nehemiah Clark of Peoria; one daughter, Teara Douglas of Peoria; two brothers, Ronald Douglas and Andrew (Coral) Douglas, both of Peoria; five sisters, Marquita (Marzelle) Trussell, Suda Douglas, Michelle (John) Ford, and Chinetha Glenn, all of Peoria, and Shannon (Michael) Rutherford of Atlanta, Ga.; one grandchild; a special friend of four years with whom he resided, Norene McMahon; special friends, Jerry "J.T." Thomas, Charles "C.J." Jackson, Bobbie Marshall and D.B., all of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one sister, two nephews and one niece.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, with visitation one hour prior to services at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Spencer Gibson Jr. and Pastor Mark Garber will officiate. Repast will be at 601 R.B. Garrett, No. 17102. Cremation will be accorded following services.
