FARMINGTON - Clyde "Satch" Dwayne Whitmer, 67, of Farmington passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.
He was born Dec. 10, 1946, in Canton to Robert and Gladys Fulton Whitmer. He married Colleen Wernsman on Oct. 1, 2005, in Farmington.
She survives, along with his children, Susan (Mark) Wang of East Peoria, Tony Whitmer of Avon, Julie Schissler of Avon, Steven Whitmer of Green Valley, Robert Whitmer of Pekin, Jennie (John) Alt of Springfield and April Lewis of Hanna City; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; twin brother, Harry Wayne Whitmer of Canton; and sisters, Vicki (Harry) Jennings of Farmington, Robyn (Mike) Bassham of Shipley, Fla., and Joan LaDoucer of Vallejo, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Brenda Whitmer; and brother, James Fulton.
Satch worked for ASARCO Coal Co.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Farmington.
Cremation has been accorded, and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Farmington Moose Lodge.
Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or American Heart Association in his name.
The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
