Elbert "Cowboy" Edwards
PEORIA - Elbert "Cowboy" Edwards, 59, of Peoria passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, in Peoria.
He was born on April 11, 1959, in Cleveland, MS, to J.T. and Dora (Cooper) Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Floyd Davis; and two sisters, Johnnie Mae Olson and Jessie Mae Edwards.
Surviving are his wife, Valerie Edwards of Peoria; seven children, Khadjah (Cory Bannon) Edwards of Peoria, Antwon Thomas of Memphis, Chevodkia (Jacoby Taylor) Wade of Peoria, Randall Wade of Cleveland, MS, and Quanda (Todd Carey) Clark, Edward (Kim Jackson) Clark and Daniel Hedgecorth, all of Peoria; three siblings, Annie Birge of Mississippi, Charles Olson and Victoria Edwards both of Peoria, numerous grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Cowboy worked as a technician with ADM before working as an HVAC Technician for many years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, attending New Life Christian Church, Bishop Harold Dawson Jr's church and riding his motorcycle.
A visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m., with a funeral service at 4 p.m., on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Pastor Spencer Gibson Jr. will officiate. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
