BLOOMINGTON - Georgia Jeannette Paul, 80, of 712 E. Olive St., Bloomington, formerly of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at her residence.
Cremation has been accorded. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Peoria, Ill., with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Peoria at a later date. Arrangements are by East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation or the OSF St. Joseph Hospice.
Georgia was born on Dec. 20, 1925, in Henry, Ill., a daughter of Dexter D. Sr. and Rose J. Dilzer Travis, who both preceded her.
Georgia married Elmer Paul on Nov. 25, 1950, in Peoria. He preceded her on June 8, 1997.
Surviving are one daughter, Mauri Anzaldua of Bloomington; two sons, Samuel Paul of Peoria and David (Betsy) Paul of Peoria; eight grandchildren, Isaac (Trisha) Anzaldua, Daria Anzaldua, Anthony Anzaldua, Lydia (Joshua) Layman, Julia Anzaldua, Megan Paul, Bryan Paul and Matthew Paul; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary (Noble) Travis-Garner of Bloomington; and one brother, Dexter D. Travis Jr. of Peoria. She was preceded by one brother.
Georgia was an accomplished cake decorator and made many cakes for family and friends for all occasions. She was a talented artist and cook, along with being a writer too. She loved all animals and showed a great love for her country through her patriotism.
Georgia was a loving wife, mother, grandma and was adored by all her nieces and nephews.
