John "Jack" F. Arbuckle Jr.
PEORIA – John F. "Jack" Arbuckle, Jr., 80, of Peoria,died on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, in Peoria.
Jack was born on Jan. 16, 1938, to John F. Sr. and Florence (Netter) Arbuckle. Both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first cousin, JaNan Williams. He married his wife of almost 60 years, Janet Johnson, on Feb. 7, 1959, in Peoria.
Jack is survived by his wife, Janet of Peoria; his daughters, Elana L. Arbuckle-Alexander of Phoenix, AZ, and Andrea (Bryan L.) Parker of Peoria; 3 grandchildren, Stephen Michael Alexander of Mesa, AZ, and Landon A. (Melanie) Parker and Brittany E. Parker, both of Peoria; 5 great-grandchildren, Myles, Colten, Calen, Kendall and Nori; one sister, Marlena E. Watts of Stockton, CA; a nephew, Sydney L. Meek of Stockton, CA; a niece, Maria L. Watts-Washington; first cousins, Kenneth and Rory Arbuckle; and a host of other family members.
Jack worked as a lending officer with Commercial National Bank (PNC Bank), retiring as vice president after over 25 years of service. Later in life, he graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor's degree in Economics. Jack was active in the Creve Coeur Club, Kiwanis Club, the Ivy Club, Crittenton Care Centers and the Peoria Public School Board. He will be remembered as a loving husband, a great dad and an avid reader. Jack had a true passion for sports cars, especially Corvettes.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria, with the Rev. Adrian Johnson and the Rev. Dr. Arthur Williams officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday, Jan. 14, at the mortuary. A burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
