Linda Carr
PEORIA - Linda K. Carr, 70, of Peoria passed away at 9:53 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1948, in La Harpe, IL, to Robert W. and Betty B. Bundy Melvin. She married Lon A. Carr on Dec. 23, 1969, in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Stephanie (Dominic) Pasquini of Germantown Hills; three grandsons, Colton, Alexander and Kemper Pasquini; one sister, Connie Allsup of Peoria Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nancy Thaller; and brother, Darrel Melvin.
Linda retired from Caterpillar, Inc. on Aug. 1, 2007, after 38 years of service.
She loved animals and the outdoors, volunteering at Wildlife Prairie Park until September of 2018, Rocky Mountain National Park from 2008 to 2015, and Peoria Zoo until 2014. She was a Cubs and NASCAR fan, along with being an advocate for animal rescue, and was dedicated to spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, with Chaplain Bill Cordes officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wildlife Prairie Park, Peoria Zoo or any local animal shelter.
