Marjorie "Marge" J. (Swisher) Hunter
BARTONVILLE - Marjorie "Marge" J. Hunter, 86, of Bartonville passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018.
Born on March 18, 1932, in Versailles, Illinois, she was the youngest of 8 children born to Walter and Velma (Wheeler) Swisher. They preceded her in death. On October 22, 1950, she married Robert C. Hunter, shortly before he was deployed to Korea.
She is survived by a daughter, Kim Hunter-Guthrie; son-in-law, David Cavinder; and grandchildren, Matthew Cavinder, Mandy (Tony) Cavinder Goff, Lindsey Cash, Melissa (Don) Hampton and Tracy Turl. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Scott (Danielle) Swartz, Brandon Moreau, Allison Hampton, Connor Moreau, Lilyana Padilla and Eliana Goff; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; daughter, Carol L. Cavinder; brothers, Larry, Leo, Jim, Don and Bill Swisher; two sisters, Ilene Brown and Della Jeffries; and son-in-law, Don W. Guthrie.
Marge and her husband, Bob, were founders of Hunter Hydro-Vac, Inc. She was a member of Bartonville Christian Church and Bartonville VFW.
She loved spending time with family and friends and shared a special bond with great-granddaughter, Lilyana. "GG" would spend time with her every day, sharing stories, teaching her to cook and playing cards. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is now at peace with her Lord, husband and daughter.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. A celebration of life will follow at the American Legion in Bartonville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Rides.
