Mary Lee Malone
TOULON – Mary Lee Malone, 88, of Toulon, passed away at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019 at Kewanee Care Center.
Mary was born on May 21, 1930 the daughter of George T. and Gertrude (Wilhite) Allsup. She married Irwin F. "Mike" Malone in Wentzville, MO on July 10, 1955; he preceded her in death on August 30, 2007 in Toulon.
Surviving are her daughter, Leann Paul (Drew Ranieri) of Chicago; two sons, Michael (Susie) Malone of Henry and Pat (Rosalie) Malone of Toulon; four grandchildren, Kirsten, Ryan, Miles, and Allison; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Allsup.
Mary worked as a bookkeeper at Swedman's Pharmacy in Kewanee for 20 years. She also worked in administration for the FBI in Washington D.C. out of high school, where she met Mike. Mary loved reading, completing crossword puzzles, crocheting, knitting, and watching Cubs and White Sox games. She enjoyed getting together with her coffee group and spending time with her dogs, Bridget and Molly. Mary adored her family, attending her children's events, especially enjoying their holiday gatherings.
Mary's funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 at Toulon United Methodist Church in Toulon. Rev. Sidney Davis Jr., will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday also at the church. Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Toulon is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Toulon Cemetery.
