PEORIA - Robert W. Kirk, 71, of Peoria passed away at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Fondulac Woods Health Care Center in East Peoria.
He was born Dec. 5, 1934, in Peoria to Frank and Leola Simkins Kirk.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Dianna Camp, and one brother, Frank J. Kirk.
Surviving are three sons, Robert A., Emmett E. and James F. Kirk; one stepdaughter, Karen (Don) Richeson; and three grandchildren, Emmett Paul Kirk, Benjamin Robert Kirk and Bobbi Lynn Kirk.
Robert worked as a truck driver for United Ready Mix until his retirement. He was a 42-year member of the Teamsters.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial Mass will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 904 E. Lake, Peoria. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 until 8 p.m. that evening.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services in East Peoria is charge of the arrangements.

Bob became a friend at Fondulac Woods this past year. I enjoyed a lunch time conversation for a time. We talked about Manual High School and Peoria things. Bob will be missed.
