Ron attended the University of Illinois and graduated from Bradley University. He worked in the real estate industry in the Peoria area for over 40 years. He served as president of the Peoria Area Association of Realtors (PAAR), was involved in the founding of the annual turkey drive established over 30 years ago, and was the president of the Illinois Association of Realtors in 2002. He worked for 10 years as the Director of Real Estate for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations.
