Dale Weber Obituary

BENSON - Dale E. Weber, 83, of Benson, Ill., passed away at 1:42 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on June 1, 1929, in Benson, Ill., to John E. and Elizabeth Koch Weber. He married Velma Roberts on Feb. 17, 1952, in Benson, Ill. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Dan (Kristie) Weber of Minonk, Ill., and Randal (Shari) Weber of Metamora, Ill.; one brother, John Weber of Roanoke; four sisters, Joan (Delmar) Kolb of Benson, Joyce (Howard) Grafelman of Benson, Ruth (Ethan) Fish of Milbank, S.D., and Barbara (Dale) Hostetler of Benson; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Nathan Weber.

Dale was an electrician by trade, working in the area for 30 years before he retired in 1995. He was a 48-year member of the IBEW Local No. 34 in Peoria.

He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Benson, where he had served in the past on the church board. He had also served on the Benson Village Board for 16 years and had been a member of the Benson Fire Department for 42 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Rev. Nathan Feig will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday before the services at the church. Burial will be in Clayton Township Cemetery in Benson. Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to the Benson Ambulance.
