1935 - 2014

METAMORA - Bertha "Bee" D. Kramer, 79, of Metamora passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at her home.

She was born on Feb. 5, 1935, in Hertford County, N.C., to Marcus A. and Hannah (Davidson) Johnson.

Surviving are her husband, Donald E. Kramer; three sons, Steven G. (Debra) Kroll of Bartonville, Ill., Thomas R. (Karen) Kroll of West Peoria, Ill., and Kenneth D. (Shari) Prather of Chillicothe, Ill.; two daughters, Patricia L. (Charles) Kroll-McAllister of Metamora, Ill., and Victoria S. (Steve) Prather-Krumholz of New York, N.Y.; two stepchildren, Karen Kramer White and Donald Kramer; and her brother, G.C. Hodges of North Carolina. She was blessed to have 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, her sister, one granddaughter and her parents.

Bee retired in September of 2000 after being a Realtor for 24 years in Peoria and Syracuse, N.Y.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Bee loved her friends and family and always had a ready smile for everyone. She enjoyed life, family, traveling and dancing with her husband, Don.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Immediately following the services will be a celebration of life at the ITOO Society. Inurnment will be at Parkview Mausoleum in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions in her name may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.

Grandma Bee, it's with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes as I write this. Losing my Grandma eleven years ago was definitely a tough time for me. If you had told me then that there was even an inkling of a chance to have another Grandma like her, I would have not believed you. Once again in my life, I humbly sit corrected. Thank God and Grandpa for bringing you into our lives! It didn't take many of your hugs, calling us "sugar", and "love you mores" to win over our hearts. I'm so honored and with all my love am proud to know you as Grandma. My family has been blessed by you and there's no doubt in my mind Grandpa could have been any happier than he was with you these past several years. And again, this isn't goodbye forever. Just goodbye for now. Love you Grandma!
