Conley Newsome
PORT CLINTON: Conley Newsome, 77, of Port Clinton, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at H. B. Magruder Hospital. Conley was born on July 03, 1935 in Pikeville, KY, the son of Harmon and Alpha (Damron) Newsome. On April 03, 1954 in Pikeville, KY, he married Leona Tackett and she survives. Conley worked as the wastewater & boiler operation manager for U. S. Gypsum for 40 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton. Conley was a good family man who loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Survivors include, Loving Wife of 58 years Leona Newsome; daughter, Connie (Frederick) Cedoz; grandchildren, Frederick (Jennifer) Cedoz & Phillip (Jessica) Cedoz; and great-grandson, Grant Cedoz; great-granddaughter, Avery Cedoz; brothers, Ronald (Pasty) Newsome, Bennett (Judy) Newsome, Denver & Dennis Newsome; sister, Barbara (Harold) Fisher. Conley was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Newsome on Dec 2, 1989; son, Tommy Eugene Newsome on Apr 02, 2011; and sister, Mirvel Ilene Williams.
Visitation will be 4-7PM, Tuesday, January 01, 2013 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, OH. Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, January 02, 2013 in the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial donations in memory of Conley may be given to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
