Judy Ann (Weidle) Raff
CATAWBA ISLAND: Judy Ann (Weidle) Raff, 72, of Catawba Island, Ohio and formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, Ohio. She was born on April 12, 1940 in Mansfield, the daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Weber) Weidle. On March 22, 1958 she married Christian Raff and he survives. Earlier in her career, she worked as a retail clerk at the former Reeds department store in Mansfield, as well as at the former Mr. Wiggs, Hecks, and LA Joes in Port Clinton. Currently, she and her husband Christian are the owners and operators of Compass Rose Inn Motel on Catawba Island.
Judy was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Catawba Island; member of the Catawba Island Club, and a member of the Mother of Twins Club. Her hobbies included reading, playing solitaire, cooking, and being with her family. Judy also had an extreme love of dancing as a little girl and into adulthood before she started a family.
Survivors include her husband, Christian; daughters, Pam (Bryan) Clay, Chicago, Illinois, Deb (Rick) Boyce, Mansfield, Ohio, Cindy Gresbach, Ocala, Florida; son, Christian F. Raff, Catawba Island; grandchildren, Stephanie Wilson, Michelle (Brian) Sweeney, Christian A. Raff, Nicholas & Phillip Gresbach; great-grandchildren, Kyle Burton, Jacob Wilson, Collin Sweeney; and a sister, Shirley (Hogart) Moses, Mansfield, Ohio.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead. Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 4, 2012 from 10am until funeral services at 11am with Pastor Kurt Borows officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.neideckerleveckcrosser.com.
