Betty (Marion) Perry

BOLIVAR: Betty (Marion) Perry, of Bolivar, Ohio, and formerly of Catawba Island, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. She was born on October 3, 1919, in Oak Park, Illinois, the first daughter of the late Robert and Marion (McCreight) Butts.

Betty attended Principia College for two years, and Erskine College in Boston for one year; in 1949 she moved to Catawba. In the 1960s and after, she worked at Gem Boats on Catawba and at Vita-Plate Battery in Port Clinton.

Betty is survived by her four children, Robert (Dawn) of Perrysburg, David of Bolivar, Jeff (Sue) of Canton, and Pam Powers (Shelbyville, KY); five grandchildren (Kelly Mulvaney, Laura Blackledge, Cara Vivian, Craig Brown, Jeff Powers); four great-grandchildren; and long-time friend Evajean Petersen of Catawba. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Barbara.

At her request, there will be no services.
