Robert Latta,
I believe you were my 5th grade teacher at S. Main school. My father, James Ladd, was a friend of your father and your father signed my naturalization certificate in 1974 when I became a US citizen. My dad always spoke so highly of your father. My thoughts and prayers for your family.

Good morning Robert Latta
Just a note to let you know I wish to share my grief about your father's passing.
I have known him since my high school days when he ran for state office.
He visited the Taylor family many, many times at the Archbold Buckeye office, of which I am proud. It was always a personal pleasure to see him walk through the front door. I knew I was in great company.
He came to my father's, Orrin R. Taylor's funeral. What a surprise and shock to me.
My father boasted to his friends every time he visited his office in Washington, D.C.
Delbert Latta was a great man who served the State of Ohio and the nation with great dignity. Always a gentleman.
I am proud of my lifetime friendship with him.
I think of his service to our great country every day.
Respectfully,
Ross Wm. Taylor

Del took a back seat to no other elected official when it came to personal service to his constituents within the fifth congressional district. I shall always be thankful for the considerate and kind assistance he provided my family and I upon several occasions. He always treated us like family. He was a tremendous political leader, and a wonderful man. May God bless him and his family!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I recall when my older brother was in Vietnam and my parents had not heard from him and my mother was not getting anywhere in contact the Marines, she contacted her State Representative Delbert Latta. He made some calls and before you know it my brothers c.o. was standing over his hospital bed making him call his mother. He had broken some ribs falling into a foxhole. My mother was so elated and very pleased with Rep. Latta.

I worked for Del for a couple of years as press secretary for the Republican minority on the Budget Committee. He was a really fine man and although he probably sensed that I had some Democratic leanings, he still hired me when I left The Blade. He had great integrity and loyalty. Frank Kane

Praise God for this man of faith and values. He talked often with my father while a US Representative, followed my progress through the WRAIN Program and commissioning as a 2LT in the USArmy, and brought great honor and credit through his service to our country. I wish there were more like him still today. May family and friends slowly ease the pain of your loss. God be with you all.

Del Latta was a keeper of principles held dear by all Americans. He was a devoted public servant who never lost touch with those he represented so well in Columbus and then in Washington. He will be missed but we can take comfort in knowing that those same people he served so well are now being ably represented by his son, Bob. May God bless and comfort all of the Latta family as well as all who mourn the loss of this great American.

Bob and the Latta Family,
We were sorry to hear of your loss.
O God, you do not willingly grieve or afflict your children. Look with pity on the suffering of this family in their loss. Sustain them in their anguish; and into the darkness of their grief bring the light of your love; through Jesus we pray. Amen.
With Heart Felt Sympathy,
