Shirley Thomas Obituary

Shirley Lucille (Lowe) Thomas, 76, departed this life on February 25, 2015. Shirley was a resident of Gary, Indiana. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who took pleasure in helping and caring for others. Shirley was an inspiration who touched many people. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Vera Lowe; siblings: Wilma Lowe & Larry Lowe and son Clifford Thomas. She is survived by her loving brother James H. Lowe; 5 children: Debra R. Lowe, Dwayne D. Thomas, Carolyn D. Thomas-Groce, Darrell K. (Rene) Thomas & Graylin T. Banks; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. She will be missed. There will be visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Calvary Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, 2400 Virginia St., Gary, Indiana. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart.
