Jones, Jalyn Davon 19 year old active duty U.S. Army soldier stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, made his transition on Thursday, December 4, 2014. Born in Smyrna, GA to Dalton L. Jones III and Joslyn R. Washington, he lived the majority of his life in Gary, Indiana. Jalyn attended Bishop Noll Institute and graduated from Merrillville High School in 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, Dalton Lewis Jones III and God-grandmother, Bettye J. Eichelberger. He is survived by his mother, Joslyn R. Washington; maternal grandparents, Jesse (Rosie) Washington; paternal grandparents, Dalton L. (Audrey) Jones II and Ernestine Jones; uncle, Jesse R. (Kellie) Washington; aunt, Shawn Jones-Wright; brother, Joshua Jones; sister, Joshe Jones; cousins, Kaden and Kenan Washington; Godmother, Monica Blakemore-Jones; God-grandfather, Harold O. Eichelberger; special friends, Anthony (Jerla) Disco, Tiffany Blakemore, Bria Eichelberger and Rev. Harold J. Eichelberger; along with a host of family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 4:00-6:00 p.m., followed by family time from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be Friday, December 12, 2014, beginning at 11:00 a.m. All services will be held at St. Timothy Community Church, 1600 W 25th Ave., Gary, Indiana.
