Mother Subella Blakemore Rumph was born on October 22, 1926, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Briggs and Davella Blakemore. She was the eldest of eight siblings. She graduated from Roosevelt High School Class of 1944. Mother Rumph accepted Christ at an early age at Saints Home C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the late Bishop C.E. Bennett. She continued to serve God under the leadership of the late Bishop Oscar Freeman at Freeman Temple C.O.G.I.C. Mother Rumph had great love and admiration for her mentor, Mother Rachel Freeman, whom she faithfully and willingly served. Mother Rumph met and married the love of her life, the late Pastor T. W. Rumph, Sr. January 8, 1947. They affectionately called each other "Thee" and "Sue". From their active and energetic marriage, five handsome sons were born: Jackie, Mike, Puncho, Kenny and Briggo. During the night of June 25th, 2015, Mother Rumph went to sleep in the Lord and woke up in Glory on the morning of June 26, 2015. Subella was preceded in death by her parents: Briggs & Davella Blakemore; husband: Pastor T. W. Rumph, Sr.; sons: Pastor T. W. Rumph, Jr. & Briggs Sr. and four brothers. She leaves blissful memories to her children: Lucille, Michael (Doris), Emmanuel (Agnes), Kenneth (Evarlean); Grandchildren: Emmanuel, Eric (Elaine), E. Nikole, Toyan, DaVon, Kimberly (Godfrey), Kim Nikole, Briggs Jr., Emrielle, Jarred, Michael-Joshua (Lisa), Kristian; Great-Grandchildren: Christopher, O'Cyrus, Kaiya, Kortez, Aya, Briggs III, Jurnee, Julianna, Michael-Joshua Jr., Mialon II, Milan; Siblings: Mary Scott, Margaret Fuller, Maurice (Shirley) Blakemore; Sisters-in-Law: Marie & Katie Blakemore; Special Friend: Bertha Nunley and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation: Sunday July 5, 2015 from 2 to 6pm; Celebration of Life: 6:00pm; Homegoing Service: Monday July 6, 2015 11:00am. All services held at New Bethel Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. 110 W. 43rd Avenue, Gary, IN. Pastor Kevin Warren, Officiating. Awaiting Resurrection: Oak Hill Cemetery.
