Willa Grady Obituary
Grady, Willa Lee (King) (nee Booby) took hold of God's hand on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Northlake Methodist Hospital in Gary, Indiana. Willa was born on June 28, 1937 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, to the late Woodrow Warren and Mary Turner. Willa spent her adolescent and teen years in Chicago, Illinois and graduating from Englewood High School. Soon after graduation, she was united in holy matrimony to John W. King Jr. From this union four sons were born, Vincent DeRon, Vern Edward, Val Kerry, and Anthony Victor King. Later in life, she married Donald Grady of Windsor, Ontario. Willa worked as a bookkeeper for Joyce Sport Wear for 10 years and 20 years for Montgomery Wards. Willa was an avid reader, sports enthusiast, and possessed a "green thumb" which she shared with everyone. She educated many about life, love, and giving to others. She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Warren; mother, Mary Gillespie; sons, Vern Edward and Val Kerry King; and sister, Mary Ann Smith. Her legacy will live on through sons, Vincent DeRon and Anthony Victory (Melissa) King, nephews Saul, Derrick (Marilyn), and Napoleon Smith; nieces, Keeley (Mike) Stovall and Kelley (Jon) Bush; special grandson, Vincent L. Palmer; granddaughter, Aja L. Palmer (Booby Jr.); and grandson, Val King Jr; along with 13 loving grandchildren; special heartbeat, great-grandson Dylan Devitt; 13 other great-grandchildren who she affectionately loved; and a host of cousins and friends. Services Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014 at Guy & Allen Chapel. Visitation 9:00-10:00; family hour 10:00-11:00, and funeral services from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery.
