Deacon Arthur L. Ellison "Sly" age 62 of Gary, Indiana passed away February 1, 2017 at Methodist Northlake Hospital. He was a deacon at the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Arthur L. Smith. Arthur worked for many company as a construction worker which he found great joy in. He is preceded in death by parents Willie and Melvola Ellison, 3 brothers Alexander Jr.; Albert Smith and Nathanial Ellison. He leaves to cherish his fond memories 2 daughters Cathy Biggs; Terise Whiteside; 2 brothers Eddie Woods and Larry Ellison; 1 sister Ora Woods; 1 sister-in-law Minnie Smith; 3 foster sisters Pauline, Lillie, and Clara Davis; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Saturday February 11, 2017 from 9-11:00a.m. with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00a.m. all services at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church 4632 West 21st Avenue Gary, Indiana . Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Interment Fern Oaks Cemetery.
