age 92, transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at home. Barbara Rose Barnette (aka) Bobbie was the 4th child born to Henry Robinson and Mary (Robinson) Gober on May 29, 1926 in Coahoma, MS. She moved to Gary, IN with her parents in 1929 at the beginning of the depression. Barbara graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1944. Barbara married Edward E. Barnette, Sr., August 31, 1946. Barbara opened and operated Barbara Barnette Realty in 1974. She retired from her profession in 2002. Barbara was a member of Greater St James AME church. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward E. Barnette, Sr., both sons, Edward E. Barnette, Jr., Michael D. Barnette and (12) twelve siblings. Barbara leaves her legacy to her loving grandchildren; Camille (Rob) Flowers, Atlanta, GA; Lindsey Barnette, Marietta, GA and Lesyle Barnette, Orlando, FL; daughter-in-laws, Angela Marshall, Atlanta, GA and Linda Barnette, Marietta, GA, 1 great-granddaughter, Ava. Loving brother and caretaker Clifford (Bessie) C. Gober, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephew and friends. Visitation will be on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 12:00noon to 8:00p.m. with family hour from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Guy & Allen Funeral Home. Home going services will be Saturday, February, 2, 2019 at 11:00am at Greater St James AME, 2601 Massachusetts St., Gary, IN. Entombment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
