Calvin D. McLaurin, born November 26, 1955 in Gary, IN, the seventh of 10 children born to Louis C. McLaurin II and Pearl McLaurin. He was an extraordinary athlete who played for Gary Westside Varsity basketball team as a junior and senior. Calvin dedicated many hours working on electronics and mechanics. He was a genius fixing cars, radios and overall a great handyman. Calvin was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served as a jet mechanic. He later returned home and worked at Paramore Hospital and numerous other jobs as a mechanic and electrician. Calvin exchanged time for eternity January 9, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Thomas, David and Louis McLaurin. He leaves to cherish fond memories sisters Charlene (Ted) McLaurin-Wilson, Bobbie Dean McLaurin, Pamela (Chuck) McLaurin-Sado, Elana (Matthew) D. McLaurin-Harris, Darla McLaurin and brother Kenny McLaurin and a host of nephews, nieces, many cousins and friends.
