To the Ewing family, my condolences. Mr. Ewing was a great inspiration to me as my drafting teacher. He referred to his wife and daughter's as his Angels. His wife helped deliver my sister's 3 children & Mary was in my graduation class '82. Awesome family.

To: Carolyn, Mildred and the Ewing family, you have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your father. Your father and mother were the poster images of a Christian couple. I greatly admired Cecil and Jean. They were a blessing to everyone who knew them. May GOD bless and keep all of you.

Coach was as cool as they come and a mentor for me in more ways than I can count. I am sadden that I have just been told of his passing today, for I would have loved to have said good bye in person to my classmate Mildred and her family, instead let this note express that your dad and mom were the best and I will hold their memory in my heart for the rest of my life! God bless you all.

We're talking about a Gentleman's gentleman when speaking of Mr. Ewing. One of my favorite teachers who gave me an understanding of how essential electricity was/is to daily life and how to properly harness and manage it.... Many a laugh in that class but that was Mr. Ewing...he used humor to transfer knowledge.... I had the pleasure of being in same class with Sandra Ewing.....just a great family with great
family traditions....RIP Mr. Ewing

Mr. Ewing was a teacher who taught more than the required education at Gary Roosevelt. He was a mentor and friend to many young men who were without direction. I've copied his trademark salutation, "my friend" when I'm greeting others. He was one of the greatest and my favorite teacher.
