born November 14, 1934 in Alton, Illinois to Harry Caldwell and Grace Porter passed on April 17, 2018. David served in the army for 6 years and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the VFW 2151 and Local # 81. He had a wonderful smile and used it frequently to the pleasure of those around him. David is preceded in death by his parents; wife Maretha; brothers Harry Joseph Caldwell and Puggan; and sister Cecil B Ware. He is survived by his two daughter; Grace Ann Caldwell of Indiana and Rotunda Caldwell Gorman of Atlanta, Georgia; two grandsons Darius Leon Gorman and Thomas Hampton Gorman both of Atlanta Georgia; great-grandchild Messiah Lee Gorman; two sisters Cora Mae Hill of Gary, Indiana and Harriet Ware of Monterey, Indiana and a host of other loving family and friends. Visitation Friday, April 27, 2018 from 12noon-8:00pm. Funeral service Saturday, April 29, 2018 at 2:00pm all services will be held at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 West 11th Ave. Internment Monday, April 30, 2018 at 10:00am Abraham Lincoln, Elwood, IL.
