I will truly miss my friend and my "sands". Derrick and i pledged Alpha Phi Alpha together as the "Sons of Oddyessy" at Ball State, he was number 4 on line and I was number 5.

Slick was as cool as they came back then. We had so many good times. Unfortunately, we lost touch with one another shortly after graduation and i haven't had the opportunity to speak with his since then.

I will lift his family up in prayer that the Lord may comfort them during these times.

RIP

It saddened me to hear about "Slick" as so many of us fondly knew him as back at Ball State. Over the years I often wondered what ever happened to "Slick" and last year I saw him at the Horace Mann all class picnic. It was so great to see him and we had our own lil reunion, just he and I. We talked about our Ball State days, who was where and who was doing what. I will never forget that smile that accompanied his charm and sense of humor. He is gone but he will never be forgotten. From your Alpha Angel lil sis, RIP my Alpha Phi Alpha big brother.

To The Family,
May the Lord Strengthen You during this difficult time that we share. Derrick and I have been best friends for over 50 years. We grew up together and he was the reason I went to Ball State University. I will miss our conversations, laughing together and his true friendship. May my brother rest in peace. I Love You Man!!!

To Charletta and the Satisfield Family: Derrick is in his mansion now and I pray that his fond memories will permeate your hearts in the days and years to come. I was devastating to learn of Derrick's passing; but when I quickly reflected on our encounter last year at the Horace Mann All-Class Reunion, I smiled as his face kept flashing in front of my eyes. I hadn't seen Derrick or Charletta in 44 years and pegged him to give me her number. He remembered how close we were during a phase in our childhood and obliged. I will truly miss; but will never forget you.

We go way back to Norton, Frobel,Horace Mann, and I followed "Slick" (Derrick ) to Ball State. He pledged me into Alpha Phi Alpha. Man! He was so smooth and had his own style. You will be truly missed my brother. We talked a lot about life at Ball State and sometimes in the summer in Gary I would meet him and Michael Lewis at the mailbox on 11th ave and talk about Ball State or just hang out for a minute. GOD must have needed another "BOP" King to teach angels how we do it G.I. style. RIP Frat. My Condolences to the Family

I met Satisfield at Ball State. He convinced several of us girls from Gary to join the Alpha Angels. He was so friendly and funny. Never a dull moment when he was around, that's for sure. He will truly be missed. Rest In Peace. The family has my sincere condolences and prayers.

This is Bro Michael Lawrence good friend and fraternity Bro. He will be surely missed. Words cannot express my sadness of his departure. We had a close bond and he introduced me to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He was a groomsman in my wedding. He was a true comedian and extended himself to help others. He is gone but not forgotten.
