Earnest A. Salter, age 80 formerly of Como, Mississippi, and resident of Gary, Indiana for 74 years departed this life at Methodist Hospitals, Southlake on February 26, 2019. He was a graduate of Roosevelt H.S. He retired after 42 years of service at LTV Steel. He was married to Annie M. Kidd for 47 years who preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories sister Vista (DeWayne) Williams, two sons Darryl W. Salter & Ricky (Tina) Salter; three daughters Chandra A. Foreman, Kimberly J. Pope, and Tara Salter; eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, March 8, 2019, from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m., family hour 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Funeral service Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Israel CME Church, 2301 Washington St, Gary, Indiana. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, IN.

I was saddened to here about Mr Salters being called home. I pray that the Lord will give you all the peace that surpasses all understanding. There are many great memories growing up on Hanley Street, your family is certainly part of those treasured memories. Blessings to the family.
