Gerard was born August 8, 1946 to George P. Fisher (deceased) and Barbara C. King. He was called home on May 11, 2017 to be with his Heavenly Father. He was a graduate of Tolleston High School class of 1963. He attended Tennessee State and Indiana University Northwest. He formerly married Lena (Pratt) Fisher-Venable and worked at US Steel as an Inspector before moving to Seattle, Washington. He worked and resided in his mom's native Mississippi before returning to Gary. Gerard was a carefree, fun-loving guy and loved by most.He was preceded in death by his father George P. Fisher and sister, Sharon (King) Davis. He leaves to cherish his memories his Mother, Barbara C. King; Daughters Tonya (Mike) Cuffee, Michelle (Mike) Fisher-Jones & Naeemah Fisher; Sons Jermel Fisher & Chavez Fisher; Brothers Ira Abdul-Malik, Stan King & Reginald King; Sisters: Doris Fisher-Stamps, Yolanda King, Thomasina Longshore & Coralisa Vann, 10 grandchildren, one great grandson and a host of family and friends. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, June 9 at 11:00 am at Trinity United Church of Christ, 1276 W. 20th Ave, Gary, In. 46407.
