Deacon Herman Lewis, age 74, made his transition July 2, 2018, at Northlake Methodist Hospital. He is preceded in death by father Albert Lewis, mother Beatrice Jackson, brother Leonard Lewis, and son, Derick Lewis. He worked and retired from Inland Steel, East Chicago, Indiana; graduated from Roosevelt High School, Class of 1963; he was a faithful and active member of First Church of God in Gary. Herman Lewis leaves precious memory to his loving and devoted wife Pearlenzo Lewis; three sons, Larry (Jacqueline) Lewis of Houston, TX, Jermaine Lewis and Dion Tate of Indianapolis, IN; daughter Yvette Lewis; brother Calvin Leon Lewis; sisters, Gloria Dean (Neil) Robinson, all of Gary, IN; Gwen Nathan and 25 other sisters and brothers of West Memphis, AR; 10 grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, July 13, 2018 FROM 12noon-8:00 p.m. with Family Hours from 6-8p.m. Home Going Celebration Saturday, July 14, 218 at 11:00am. All services at First Church of God, 134 East 43rd Avenue, Gary, IN. Rev. Jacquelyn Drago-Hunter, Senior Pastor, Officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.
