James E. Cherry 'Bubble" age 68 passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017. He was Veteran of the US Army and retired employee of the Gary Sanitary District with 36 years of service. Bubble was a former member of Church of God In Christ Church and a member of the Serenity House. Bubble is preceded in death by parents J.A. and Mablean Cherry, brothers Clydell Cherry and Hoytt Williams; son Jamal Cherry. He leaves to cherish his precious memories loving and devoted wife of (38 years) married 16 years Bobbie J. Cherry; children Jamillah Cherry, Bernice Sullivan, Donte' Sullivan, Aiesha Cherry Jamaal Cherry, Rashaad Cherry, Keshia Cherry, Camillah Cherry , Jasmine Cherry, Donnisha Reynolds and Justin Sullivan; sister Kathy (Gerald) Brooks, Linda Cherry, Faith Myricks and Frann Taylor, brothers Kenneth Taylor and Willie Cherry, 25 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends . Visitation Monday, October 9, 2017 from 12-8:00p.m. Family hours from 6-8:00p.m. Funeral Services Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. all services at the Guy & Allen Funeral Chapel 2959 West 11th Avenue. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.

You fought long and hard, I'm glad the pain and suffering you endured as come to an end. You're free so soar high as you enter the golden gates of heaven. I can only imagine the welcome greeting granny and uncle Clyde had waiting for you. The family lost a great man but gained an amazing angel.
