Mr. Moore has been our neighbor for almost our entire lives and we will greatly miss him. We send our love and prayers to all of you at this time.
James C. Moore "JC" peacefully passed away Friday evening, May 19, 2017, at the age of 93. He was born on October 30, 1923 in Louin, MS, to the late Fannie (Campbell) Houston and Willie Moore. JC was a WWII Navy veteran and retired from U.S. Steel after 44 years of service. He was a devoted member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he served for over 50 years. JC is survived by two daughters, Stacey (Rod) Coleman and Sarah (Roy) Atkins; one son, James (Denise) Moore Jr.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother Johnnie Campbell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents and stepfather, Dave Houston, JC was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 53 years, Dorsey; daughter, Rachelle; three grandsons, Dante, Roy Jr., and AJ; and two sisters, Irene and Mildred. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m.Interment Fern Oaks Cemetery.
