John L. "Sonny" Bailey Jr. made a divine design to be with his Lord and Savior on September 28, 2018 to reunite with the love of his life Junetta. Tuseday February 22, 1938 John was brought into this world by the union of Lula Howze and John L. Bailey. He was the youngest son in a family of 8 children. John graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956. He was united in marriage to Junetta Fears in 1958. They were married for 46 amazing years. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from U.S. Steel on March 30, 2002 after working 47 years as an Expediter. He was an ordained Elder in the Church of God in Christ denomination. He enjoyed fishing, bible study, designing personal art work and playing his keyboard. John was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, other relatives and his wife. Remaining to cherish his memories are his sons John and Erik (Tanisha) and daughter Colletta; Sisters Elizabeth Collins and Sarah Bailey; brothers-in-law Alphonso, Gabriel and Willie; sisters-in-law Jellena, Bernadette and Gloria and a host of other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Visitation Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. with Wake from 10 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. All services at Deliverance Temple C.O.G.I.C., 3476 Virginia St. Bishop Bobby E. Warren, Pastor. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
