Deacon John "Eddie" Phillips age 80, passed away June 25, 2018. He was born to Corrine and Samuel Phillips on May 4, 1938 in Dermott, Arkansas. After 38 years of service, he retired from the Sheet & Tin Mill. He leaves to cherish his memories wife Brenda; 3 daughters Wanda (Michael) Tucker, LaTanza Kemp, Lalita (Aaron) Jackson. 2 sons Nathaniel Gist and Shanta Phillips. 4 sisters, 1 brother and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. John is preceded in death by both parents, 5 siblings and 1 daughter. Visitation Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 9 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 1831 Virginia St. Gary, IN. Pastor Dwight Gardner officiating.
