Johnie W. Grady age 71 of Gary, IN passed away on Monday August 21, 2017. He was born on December 8, 1945 to Heartha and Alean Grady in Philadelphia, MS. He graduated from Hopewell High School class of 1963 as class Vice President. He then attended Okolona College with Childhood friend Hubert Moore. Shortly after they relocated to Gary, IN. He then joined the U.S. Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged he started to work at USX and retired after 32 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He leaves to Cherish his memories loving wife Eva Grady, two children Kim (Marvin)Rea, Jonathan (Patrica ) Grady, 5grandchildren Nicholas Moore, Jordan Grady, Moranda Grady, Marvin Rea Jr. and Joshua Grady; sister Dorothy Grady of Philadelphia, MS. Visitation Friday, August 25th from 12:00 noon t0 8:00p.m. with family hours from 6-8:00p.m. Funeral Services Saturday August 26, 2017 at 11:00a.m. at Miller First Baptist 5601 East 4th Avenue Gary, Indiana. Rev. Burnside Officiating. Internment Evergreen Memorial Park.

My condolences to the Grady family, I didn't really know him personally, but I did know him from the guys he hung around. He was always a nice guy to me when our paths crossed. Hold on to God's robe and HE will give you the strength to get through this time in need. Blessings & prayers for the family and friends.
