Johnnie Golden Starks, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Born in Grenada, Mississippi on October 18, 1930, Johnnie moved to Gary, Indiana in 1956 and joined Christ Temple Church of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A., where he served as a Deacon. Johnnie served eight years in the Army and was employed for U.S. Steel, retiring after 37 and a half years of service. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Doris Nell Starks of 53 years, parents, Roy and Emma Starks and eight siblings. He is survived by his three sons: Johnny, Kelvin, and Kenneth, and a multitude of other family and friends. Visitation Friday, February 8, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. with family hour from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. all services at Christ Temple Church of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A., 4201 Washington Street. Dr. Dale L. Cudjoe officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.
