Larry DeLeon (L.D.) Chisholm In 1947, Larry left Tuskegee and moved to Gary, IN. Larry worked 43 years at Northern Indiana Public Service Company, retiring in 1990. Larry was a 32nd degree Mason of Golden Gate Lodge #1 A.F. and A.M. He was an active, participating member of several organizations at his beloved First African Methodist Episcopal Church where he was a member for many years, including usher board #2, Trustee Board and head chef. He was preceded in death by his parents Irish and Bertha Chisholm; wife of 59 years Evelyn Chisholm; daughters Gwendolyn and Valerie Lynn Chisholm; grandson Malcolm Jerome Davis Jr.; brothers Irish James Chisholm Jr. and Bobby Chism and sister Helen Gunn. Survived by daughter Gloria Chisholm Coleman (Brian); son, John Arthur Magee; great grand-daughters, Makayla Davis and Mia Davis and great-grand-son Miles Thomas; great-great grandson Mason Thomas; four sisters Marian, Kathryn, Gloria (Jim) and Myrtle (Andrew); life companion Gladys Hutch; devoted nieces Pamela Austin, Barbara Harrison and Emma Glover, great-niece Asia Austin and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.Visitation Friday June 24, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at First A.M.E. Church 2005 Massachusetts St. Family hours from 6-8:00 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday June 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
