Lattie C. Parker 104 years, affectionately called "Aunt Lattie or "T", was born to the late Tom and Lula Clay in Okolona, MS. on July 12, 1912. She relocated to Gary, IN along with her husband Starling Parker where she enjoyed many years of service to her church and community. Much of her work was in sales and human services, where she was the manager of well-known furniture store. Mother Parker also help raise many children while their parents worked. Over 60 years ago, she was one of the founding members of Calvary Institutional Baptist Church of Gary, IN under the leadership of several pastors and she remained a member until her death. Mother Parker was an active member of the Usher Board, Gospel Choir, Pastors Aid, Membership Committee and Mother's Board. Due to poor health Mother Parker relocated to Benton Harbor, MI and resided with her great niece Bertha Carson-King and her husband Otis. On Friday, June 16, 2017 Mother Parker exchanged time for eternity with her loving family at her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, adopted daughter and niece Fannie Lou Clay, all of her siblings and most of her nieces, nephews and so many relatives and friends. She leaves to cherish fond memories: Granddaughter Mary Louise Gould; Sister-in-law Annie Bowens of Gary, IN; Great niece and caregiver Bertha (Otis) King. Loving nieces Glenda (Ernest) Thompson, Gayle (Elbert) Reynolds, Annie Stewart, Esther Cooper and a host of great nieces, nephews, friends and church family. Visitation Friday, June 23, 2017 from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. with funeral service at 12 noon. All services at Calvary Institutional Baptist Church, 2400 Virginia St. Gary, IN. Rev. John Talley, Pastor. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.

Annie i was sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved aunt. What a blessing to live 104 years and still dedicated to the lord. May you find comfort in knowing others share in your grief. Your aunt is now gone to receive her reward and crown for a job well done. We will be praying for you and family in the days ahead. Your aunt is happy with Jesus and all her loved ones.
