Prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Mrs. Lillie Bailey

I've known Mrs. Bailey for years per us being members of First Baptist Church in Gary, IN. She was a good person to know as she had a very outgoing personality and always smiling. During my years working at Majestic Star Casino, she would always joke with me about if I started getting that big money yet.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Bailey was my sixth grade teacher. I will never forget how Mrs. Bailey recognized her students' potential and expected you to reach your full potential. She poured into many lives and definitely was a "quality teacher." May God comfort and strengthen the entire family.

As part of Mrs. Bailey's extended Sparkman, Arkansas, family, I mourn with you. She positively impacted MANY lives. My memories go back to my 5th grade classroom where she said: "I say what I mean, and I mean what I say." Fifty years later she shared her home and her time for me to do interviews for a Doctorate in Education. She along with Mrs. Girtee Ferguson and my mother, Evelyn Knight Giles, provided a great foundation for a host of children who passed through their care in elementary classrooms. Her legacy lives on in our lives AND the lives of students we ourselves have taught. May God comfort you with the knowledge of Mrs. Bailey having lived a life well spent.
