Marvin Ray Britton age 57, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018. He was born September 27, 1960 in Gary, Indiana to Albert and Amy Britton. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age at Mount Moriah Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, sang in the male chorus and gospel choir. Marvin graduated from Roosevelt High School class of 1979. After graduating he entered an apprenticeship program as an ironworker at U. S. Steel Corp., later becoming a Strand Operator with 39 years of service. He was a loving father, devoted husband, passionate Harley rider and a great carpenter and welder. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Amy Britton, brother Charles Britton, sister Amy Arlene Britton and grandmothers Winnie Garrett McGee & Julia Britton and sister-in-law Olivia Britton. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife Kim Britton; beautiful daughter Paula Danielle Britton; Step-daughters Sandra & Alondria Shufford. Loving sister Marcille Jones; loving brothers James Britton and Vincent (Henrietta) Britton; other mom Ella Monroe. Nieces Chelsea Poats, Tynise Jones, Charles L. and Carol Britton; Nephews Darren (Angie) Adams, James Jr., William and Michael Britton. Special cousin Martha Henderson and a host of other family and friends. Visitation Saturday September 15, 2018 from 9 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. All services at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 735 E. 20th Ave. Gary, IN. Pastor Marion Johnson officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
