Nathaniel "Nick" McGhee Nichols, 79 was born on June 5, 1938 to Willis C. Nichols Jr. and Beatrice Nichols in Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Willis C. Nichols III and Bertram R. Nichols and son Michael Porter. Nathaniel graduated from Hamilton High School in 1956. He served two years in the Army. He is a member St. Timothy Community Church. He retired from Chicago Painting Services/J. L. Manta/ KM Industries. He leaves to cherish wife Sheila Nichols; daughters Yolana Nichols of Gary, Neeshenah Porter of Atlanta, Charmaine (Wil) Patterson of Milwaukee; daughter-in-law Karen Porter of Michigan City; sister Cleo (June) Deadmon of Chicago; brothers Charles (Phyllis) Nichols of Memphis and Phillip Nichols of St. Louis; sister-in-law Florence Nichols of Memphis; 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family. Visitation Thursday April 19, 2018 from 9:00a.m. – 11:00a.m. With funeral services at 11:00a.m. All services at St. Timothy Community Church 1601 West 25th Avenue. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood, IL.
