Patricia "Pat" Marian (Anglin) Lovelace, 87, of Gary, Indiana, made her transition at home on Monday, August 14, 2017. She was born August 9, 1930 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Cecil Anglin and Johnetta (Grimes) Collins. Her loving husband of 44 years, Eichel Lovelace, and son, James Whitticker Jr., predeceased her. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Evansville, IN and went on to receive her Bachelors and Master's degrees in Education from Indiana University. After graduation she began her long-term illustrious teaching career in the Gary Community School system. After retirement, she taught at Ivy Tech State College and was a tutor of GED at the Women's Correctional Facility. She was a member of St. Timothy Community Church since 1994. She was involved and held positions in numerous organizations; Phi Delta Kappa, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Beta Psi Chapter, American University of University Women (President for 16 years), Gary Literacy Coalition, and the Greater Gary American Jazz Association. She loved to watch Turner Classic Movies. She was an avid reader and supporter of the arts. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen (Roger) Lovelace-Velazquez and Anthony Lovelace; grandchildren, Patrick (Yolanda) Lovelace, Stephanie (Ismael) Lovelace-Nieves, Lora Whitticker, Nicholis Lovelace, and Leah Lovelace; great-grandchildren, Keisha Nieves, Dion (Angel) Nieves, Isaac Nieves, Aminah Nieves, Patrick Lovelace Jr., and Dohnovyn Lovelace; great-great-grandchildren, Phoenix "Rose" Thornton, Selena Nieves, and Amilah Nieves; cousins, Michelle Bass, Tony Bass, Robert (Silva) Blackwell, and Artie Blackwell; the Lovelace and Vaughn Family, and a host of other relatives and many, many friends. Visitation will be on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 9:00am to 11:00am with Funeral Services at 11:00am at St. Timothy Community Church, 1600 West 25th Ave, Gary, Indiana. Interment Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Hobart, Indiana. Her loving, devoted family and friends will dearly miss Pat. God grant her eternal rest.
