Reginald Barrett McKinney, age 60, passed away at his home in Gary, IN, on April 21, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, John McKinney; grandparents, Lee and Aline McKinney, and Ollie and Lenora (Clay) Barnes; and a host of uncles and aunts. Reginald graduated from West Side High School in 1975. He attended Western Michigan and Purdue universities before graduating from Indiana Vocational Technical College. Prior to his declining health, he was formerly employed at National Materials. Reginald is survived by his daughter, Ashley; grandson, Ashton. His faithful and loving mother, Shirley (Clay) Garth, and step-father, Eddie Garth Sr.; Siblings Valerie (Ronald), Angela (John), Rowena, and Judy (Melvin), step-brother, Eddie Jr., and step-sister, Jennifer (Dr. Mark). A devoted, loving aunt, Yvonne Clay-Smith, and special aunt, Earlene Rudolph; niece, nephews, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave., Gary, IN.

My true friend and classmate ('75) at "the Side". God put you on this earth for a myriad of reasons and those reasons, you did fulfill to the best of your ability with the time you had been given. You and your family are forever in my prayers Reggie. I'll see you later Reggie and stay Blessed!!
