Tobe Givens was born September 14, 1930 to the late Tobe Givens Sr. and Daisy Scott. Tobe was a faithful child of God and accepted Christ our savior at the age of 17. Tobe served in the US Army in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1957 receiving the Purple Heart. He retired from Inland Steel after 33 years of service. Tobe is preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years Mary Givens, sons Donnie, Ron and Tobe Givens. Tobe leaves to cherish his memory 5 daughters Angela (Anthony) Mixon, Kim (Jerome) Anderson, Angelita (Ken) Givens, Bernita (Victor) Givens and Jenee` (Eric) Robinson; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation Sunday March 26, 2017 from 12-8 p.m. Family hours 6-8:00 p.m. Funeral service Monday March 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. All services at the Guy & Allen Chapel. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Joliet, IL.
