Wilbur Brown, Sr. 95, of Gary, IN, passed away November 3, 2017 at Methodist Northlake Hospital. He was born in Liberty, MS to Harry and Luvilla Brown on June 18, 1922. He served in the Army and a veteran of WWII. Working at U.S. Steel's Gary Works for 41 years he retired as a Boiler Operator in the Power and Fuel plant. Wilbur was a loving and devoted husband and father. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, granddaughter, maternal and paternal grandparents, sister, brothers, aunts and uncles. Wilbur is survived and cherished by his wife of 73 years Marguerite; daughters Margaret (William) Hern and Linda Brown McCarter, one sister, one brother, eight grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Visitation Friday, November 10, 2017 from 9-11a.m. with A celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00a.m. all services will be held on at 20th Century Missionary Baptist Church 700 West 11th Ave.
