Willie Dowdell Obituary

Willie James Dowdell, age 89, passed away peacefully at Methodist Hospital Northlake, in Gary, IN. on Saturday, June 23, 2018. He was born February 25, 1929, in Lochapoka, AL. Willie James retired from LTV Steel (formally known as Youngs Town) in East Chicago, IN. after 34 years of service. He was a member of King Solomon Lodge #57. Willie James was proceeded in death by his parents Fred and Lois Pace, two daughters Debra Dowdell, Wilma Hawkins and one son Clifford Dowdell. He was survived by his daughter Brenda (Billy) Jones; loving companion Isclean Hunter, her son Pervis Hunter; Willie James will be lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren Toni Hawkins, Ayanna (Derrick) Brewer, TYanna Jones, JaNaye Reed, Mishell Gordon, Billy Jones, and Derrick (Delbia) Jones; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren; one sister Florence Ezell; five step brothers John Card, Author Card, Dexter Card, Richie Card, and Louise Card. Visitation Monday, July 2, 2018 from 10 to 11:00am with Memorial services following all services at the Guy & Allen Funeral Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave.
