Sanders, Vernon M. "Max" Age 77, of DeMotte, IN passed away on Tuesday October 30, 2012 at his residence. He was born August 1, 1935 in Rensselaer, IN to Roy and Ada (Truax) Sanders, both deceased. He was a longtime resident of Jasper County. Max was a 1953 graduate of Rensselaer High School and was a self-employed electrician, Sanders Electric, for 45 years. He was a veteran of the US Army. On September 26, 1985 in Rensselaer, IN he married Penny (Harrington) Dankoff, who survives. Max was an avid golfer who still holds the course record on the back nine at Sandy Pines. He has had 2 hole in one's at Sandy Pines and 1 at Curtis Creek. He also loved Horse Racing, having owned horses. Max was a member of Grace Fellowship Christian Church, DeMotte, IN. Max is survived by his wife, Penny Sanders of DeMotte, IN; Daughters, Janene (Edwin) Anderson, DeMotte, IN; Lisa (Brian) Dick, Huntersville, NC and Gayla (Karl) Dick, Pendleton, IN; Step-daughter, Dana Cleveland, DeMotte, IN; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter; Brother, Melvin (Charleen) Sanders, Oak Harbor, WA; Many nieces and nephews. Previously married to Rozanne (nee; Taylor) Sanders, Pendleton, IN; Close friend Art, the son he never had and his Wednesday and Sunday golf partners and many friends and business associates. Preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and step-daughter, Danielle Dankoff. Friends may call on Friday November 2, 2012 from 2-8 PM at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at The Grace Fellowship Christian Church, 1424 8th St. SE, DeMotte, IN with Pastor Tim Hester officiating.
